  • Education is a basic Human Right and the Diaspora World Cup global school program focuses its energy in some the poorest countries around the world. We build schools in some of the poorest countries around the worldthat historically had no adequate school structure. Any member of the World Diaspora has the power to end illiteracy around the world through the power of soccer.

Ce fut un honneur pour la Coupe du Monde de la Diaspora d'accueillir L'Ambassadeur du Sri Lanka, M. Devinda R. Subasinghe. Devinda R. Subasinghe, ancien ambassadeur sri-lankais aux États-Unis et au Mexique, est impliqué dans les relations entre les États-Unis et l'Asie depuis plus de 30 ans et est un spécialiste des marchés émergents et de la politique étrangère. Il a été observateur permanent auprès de l'Organisation des États américains. Ancien économiste en développement et banquier d'investissement, il a travaillé en étroite collaboration avec les États-Unis sur un large éventail de questions au cours de son mandat d'ambassadeur, notamment au redressement du tsunami jusqu'à l'appui au processus de paix sri lankais. Il a également approfondi la coopération bilatérale en matière de sécurité et élargi le partenariat commercial entre les États-Unis et le Sri Lanka.

L'ambassadeur Subasinghe est le président de Bridging Nations, une organisation dédiée aux relations entre les États-Unis, l'Inde et la Chine. Il est membre actif du Marshall Legacy Institute, un organisme de déminage; Et fait partie du conseil d'administration de One Laptop Per Child, au Sri Lanka, qui travaille à introduire des technologies de l'information abordables dans les écoles rurales.
