Letter to Supporters

Dear supporters,

This year was a milestone year for the Diaspora World Cup, filled with successes and challenges that would not have been possible to achieve and navigate without your support. We continue to be impressed by the organization’s dedicated supporters and partners. One key highlight was the rapid response we receive for the construction of our first school in the village of Monti;a suburb of Yaoundé, the capital city of Cameroon. We have nearly completed of a three story-earthquake resistant building with 12 classrooms school that will accommodate 300 children in a village of Monti. This is our first project and just the beginning of our endeavor.

In the isolated, subsistence-based villages where we work there are no schools. Nearly all children are low-or non-literate. Children attending school is a hardship for most families due to expense and distance needed to travel. The three story-building is built in the area that lack adequate classrooms – where students learn in huts, are taught under trees, or walk miles to a neighboring village. Or don’t go to school at all.

We believe education is key to unlocking human potential. Our mission at the Diaspora World Cup is to build a better world through the power of the soccer game. Using soccer to reach children cut off from traditional education is expending what is possible. Our future girls and boys will take pride in coming together to learn, play, and grow. Together, we are planting the seeds to level the playing field and empower the next generation of children in the world poorest countries. In the coming year, the Diaspora World Cup will focus on creating sustainable, and lasting impact by investing heavily in our programs. We will continue to build new schools as we deepen the impact of our programs to ensure that more students have access to quality education.

Whilst we are proud of the progress made so far as a subset of our broader impact, we know we can, and must always do more. Trough the generosity of our valued supporters and donors, the amount of donations received more than triple this year that significantly extended our reach and impact in support of our mission. We are extremely grateful for your continued support. Together, we are reshaping the future of global education and I can’t wait to see what’s next.

With Gratitude,
