The league has made the Argentinian star the crux of its push for growth. But now that his season is over will neutral fans bother to watch?
England wins the 2013 Diaspora World Cup Final!!!!
Sunday’s result will have England thinking they are the best team of the Diaspora in the United States. That is a debatable claim: Note that this win came against an exhausted Ethiopia side that was coming off a grueling win over Guinea in the semifinals. Yet it is hard to ignore the individual class that England displayed during the same semi-final against the Netherlands. There is also no arguing with tonight’s results, and the manner in which England achieved it. With their most Big Fans on the stand, England dominated the match from start to finish, making Ethiopia look very average. That’s a feat any team can be proud of, no matter what people might say.
England now must build on this win. As we go along, the Diaspora World Cup is getting tremendous amount of attraction from our community and it’s every country goal to win. Another big game is under a couple of months away, and it will be fought here in this very same stadium. I am sure Ethiopia will learn from tonight’s whipping should they face England again, as critics and expert pointed out, they need players with good physical terms, not just technical. There is one ugly fact no one likes to mention: No team has won the Diaspora World Cup twice in a row. Yet, for now, the British Tigers of England rule the Diaspora World Cup.
