We build schools in some of the poorest countries around the worldthat historically had no adequate school structure. Any member of the World Diaspora has the power to end illiteracy around the world through the power of soccer.

England team of Gina Opatovsky seized control of the Diaspora World Cup title race at the Germantown SoccerPlex on Saturday April 28th with a powerful 4-0 win over bitter rivals Spain.

 

Both teams are from Frederick, MD and the rivalry between the two is not something new. The victory means that wins over Portugal and Ethiopia in their next two games will almost certainly see England claim the group lead against Armenia. The win also capped a remarkable start in the 2012 Diaspora World Cup. The pressure-filled nature of the occasion was reflected by England captain Alie Basma who celebrated this huge win. "Absolutely buzzing. We've been waiting for this moment," Mr. Basma told the Diaspora World Cup News. "It's far from over and we know that, but to give our fans this big win over Spain this season is a great start to move to the knockout stage in July. We have to finish it off and we have to do it over the next two games. The Diaspora World Cup
