The Bruneian diaspora in the Washington, D.C., Maryland, and Virginia (DMV) region forms a close-knit, highly educated, and diplomatic community. Although modest in demographic numbers, the diaspora maintains an active and respected presence within the capital's international and Southeast Asian diplomatic circles.

The community's primary focal point is the Embassy of Brunei Darussalam along Washington, D.C.'s Embassy Row. The embassy coordinates cultural diplomacy, national day observances, and welfare programs for Bruneian scholars and government-sponsored students enrolled in top regional universities, including Georgetown University, George Washington University, Johns Hopkins, and the University of Maryland.

Bruneians in the DMV actively participate in joint ASEAN cultural exhibitions, international trade symposiums, and community celebrations for Brunei National Day and Hari Raya Aidilfitri. Community members are largely professionals working in diplomacy, environmental science, international business, and academic research across D.C. and suburban Maryland.
